How Our Meetings Work

The Process (Step-by-Step): Break down how the club functions.

  1. A Topic is Chosen: We announce a new theme each month (e.g., "The Color Blue," "Portraits of Resistance," "Abstract Expressionism").

  2. You Find Your Piece: Members search for a painting, sculpture, or other work of art that fits the theme.

  3. Prepare to Share: You prepare a brief, 5-10 minute presentation on your chosen piece. What is it? Why did you choose it? What do you find interesting about it?

  4. We Meet & Discuss: We gather to share our findings, listen to each other's perspectives, and enjoy a friendly, guided discussion.

Our "No Attitude" Philosophy

The art world can sometimes feel intimidating, reserved for experts with years of formal training. We started this club to create a different kind of space—one where curiosity is the only prerequisite.

Our "no attitude" philosophy means:

  • Your perspective matters. You don’t need an art history degree to have a valid opinion. Your personal connection to a piece of art is what sparks the best conversations.

  • It’s about sharing, not quizzing. We're here to learn from each other in a relaxed, supportive environment. There are no wrong answers.

  • Community comes first. We are neighbors and friends connecting over a shared passion. The goal is to leave each meeting feeling inspired and more connected to both art and each other.

How Our Club Works

Our monthly gatherings are simple and engaging.

  1. A New Theme is Announced: We start with a fascinating topic, like "The Use of Light in Baroque Painting," "Portraits of Power," or "The Art of the Abstract."

  2. You Find Your Piece: Each member finds a piece of art—from any era or artist—that fits the theme and speaks to them personally.

  3. We Share and Discuss: At our meeting, each member gives a brief, 5-10 minute presentation on their chosen piece. We then open the floor for a lively, collaborative discussion where we all share our thoughts and observations.
